Cut the spring, drill a hole in it for a small nail to secure it in place. I used a small brass nail, cut to length so it would not protrude into ramrod hole.They shoot most accuretly if the clearance is .003 or less. That's a pretty snug fit and can be pretty hard to load in a fouled bore. I went to hardware store, bought a larger tap and matching drill bit, and just drilled the old threads out with an electric drill, going slowly. Then tapped to new size. Came out fine. Bending the arm on the sear has it's risks. I tried the grease gun but the grease went around the minie so that didn’t work. I broke two ball pullers of on the ball, JB welded the last puller into my rod and it still stripped the puller. Hi, I recently re-read James Forsyth "The sporting rifle and its projectiles" as I read it for z very first time some years before and I became interested why is it that muzzloading rifles (specially those shooting patched round balls) are most accurate with one specific powder amount. One of the things I find so intriguing/ adicting about muzzleloader shooting is how critical each shot is. With unmentionables when you miss its its easy to rip off rappid fire makeup shots. With the muzzel loader when you miss its a done deal. Sep 2, 2016. #2. As I understand it you are supposed to set the back trigger, turn the adjustment screw in until the set trigger releases then back the screw off one full turn. I just installed my first double set trigger on a build and this adjustment sequence worked well for me.Bore is excellent, shiny and new looking. Excellent fit and finish on this rifle.
